ECOTHERAPY

'I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found was really going in'

- John Muir

Ecotherapy is a range of nature-based interventions / activities essentially taking place outside.

It is offered by various practitioners supporting people who are interested in re-connecting with themselves & the natural world. This includes therapists who have integrated their practice to working outside.

Being outside can naturally offer different perspectives, clarity and connection.

When we stop and pay attention to what sustains us, we naturally develop a deeper respect for the earth.

We connect with the wider eco-systems - resulting in a healthier psychological, physiological & spiritual state. This becomes a reciprocal relationship as we begin to realise we are part of the wider web of life.

WALK & TALK THERAPY - INTEGRATING NATURE & CREATIVITY

Drawing on my art therapy work I aim to integrate creativity into walk & talk sessions.

My hope is to invite you to see what is already there, but has perhaps become lost or too hard to notice on your own.

I will walk alongside you without judgement, gently noticing & validating - helping you to build on your resources and spark your inner creativity & autonomy.

This also includes the importance of movement - noting as we walk, our mood shifts, our bodies wake up and our senses are activated. Mother Nature is a great leveller & natural healer.

Realising we are part of the ecosystem has a profound shift on our relationship with ourselves & the earth.

As we navigate living in a modern world whilst dealing with painful life events, we can often become disconnected from ourselves & the natural world. Being outside can help reclaim this connection.

ART THERAPY

Art Therapy also known as Art Psychotherapy is a psychological therapy.

The artwork / creative process is the primary mode of communication - with the aim of helping to explore & express difficult experiences that may feel too overwhelming to talk about or make sense of.

Art Therapy is not about creating a 'masterpiece', it is about creating a visual narrative of your own story - in your own unique way using whatever materials you are drawn to. This can often be a cathartic process that offers an opportunity for healing and enlightenment.
