Hello, thank you for taking the time to visit my website.
My name is Alexandra (She/Her). I am offering a combination of Art Therapy & Ecotherapy - integrating both art & nature to help heal, recover and restore what has brought you to therapy.
Sessions will take place at a coastal nature reserve called Hengistbury Head. This is a beautiful location based in Dorset, which can be enjoyed throughout the seasons.
The site offers multiple accessible walking trails including the beach and quieter paths.
I have been working as an Art Therapist since 2009 and trained as an Ecotherapist in 2023.
My work has primarily been in adult mental health in various settings including forensic and brain injury.
I currently work within an NHS community learning disability team for adults with an LD & Autism.

MY APPROACH
My approach as a therapist is underpinned by a trauma-informed perspective, which explores an individual's personal life narrative - enabling both client & therapist to find out 'what has happened' rather than focussing on what is 'wrong'.
This approach provides a therapeutic framework to help make sense of particular behaviours - identifying them as natural coping mechanisms in relation to individual life events.
I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental space to explore and make sense of what has happened - giving time & space to something which may feel difficult to confront alone.
I am passionate about the natural world and issues related to the climate crisis and endevour to integrate this into my practice. This includes working with individuals experiencing feelings of overwhelm related to the ecological crisis resulting in eco-grief / eco-anxiety. My hope is to provide a space to honour your pain for the world whilst navigating ways to care for yourself and the planet.
